Heading into the final week of the regular season, much remains unsettled. Only two teams have locked in their regular season seeding, Green in the first seed and Purple in the tenth seed!
Regular season seeding is determined by:
1) Points
2) Wins
3) Head to head
4) Point differential
Orange and Yellow open the evening at 5PM with 2, 3, and 4 seeds on the line. The winner has to wait for Red in the last game of the evening to learn whether they are 2nd or 3rd seed, where the loser will lock up the #4 seed. Skate to a tie, and Orange will stay at #3 and Yellow at #4, and Red will earn the #2 seed before skating.
Red and Green will close the evening at 9PM with Green having already earned the #1 seed. It will take a Red win, or an Orange versus Yellow tie, to earn Red the #2 seed. Otherwise, they will earn the #3 seed.
The #1 (Green) seed will play round of three matchups against the #6, #7, and #10 (Purple) seeds. The #2 seed will play round of three matchups against the #5, #8, and #9 seeds. The #3 seed will play round of three matchups against the #4, #8, and #9 seeds. The #4 seed will play round of three matchups against the #3, #7, and #10 (Purple) seeds.
The second game of the evening at 6PM will be Royal versus Purple. Purple has locked up the #10 seed. A tie or a loss by Royal, and they will be the #6 seed. A Royal win and they will tenuously hold the #5 seed while Teal and Silver play in the next game.
Teal and Silver follow at 7PM. A Purple victory or tie leaves Teal with the #5 seed, win, lose, or tie. A Royal victory means Teal needs a tie or win to lock up the #5 seed, otherwise falling to the #6 seed.
The #5 seed will play round of three matchups against the #2, #6, and #10 (Purple) seeds. The #6 seed will play round of three matchups against the #1 (Green), #5, and #9 seeds.
Silver needs a win of its own to lock up the #7 seed. A loss or a tie and they are the #8 seed, and the winner of the Black versus Neon matchup will be the #7 seed. If it is a tie-fest, and Silver ties, followed by a Black and Neon tie, Silver will be #7, Black #8 and Neon #9.
Black and Neon follow at 8PM. If Silver won, the winner will be #8, loser #9, with a tie benefiting Black. If Silver lost, the winner of this game will be #7, loser #9, with a tie also putting Black at #7. If Silver ties, the winner of this game will be #7, loser #9, with a tie putting Black at #8 and Neon at #9.
The #7 seed will play round of three matchups against #1 (Green), #4, and #8. The #8 seed will play round of three matchups against #2, #3, and #7. The #9 seed will play round of three matchups against #2, #3, and #6.
Purple will finish in the #10 seed, with round of three matchups against #1 (Green), #4, and #5.
Look for updates next week about the Playoffs and matchups. While the lower seeds certainly have a tougher schedule to make it to the semi-finals, all teams will begin the Playoffs needing only three wins to ensure their semi-final berth. Good luck!
